Michael's Acre - dedication bench installed on 7th August 2013
On 7th August 2013, MJL celebrated its 2nd anniversary, and we couldn't have wished for a better gift than to hear that Michael's expertly-crafted dedication bench was installed on that very date. Coincidence or providence, once again a special day has inadvertently resulted in something quite groundbreaking.
With heartfelt thanks to all who gave to this initiative, Michael now has an acre of protected woodland and a bench dedicated in his memory for posterity. The bench is situated next to a large oak tree, just like Michael's 'Giving Tree' and in the spring, the area is awash with bluebells. On our website, you will find maps giving directions to the bench itself, and pinpointing the exact acre of land dedicated in Michael's memory. The small village of Hucking is located just outside of Maidstone in Kent and the large ancient woodland is one of the village's best attractions. Kent is located close to London and was where Michael intended to stay for his last tour, so it seems an ideal location, both in terms of relevance and convenience, as well as the sheer beauty of this place.
Major love, gratitude and thanks to all those many wonderful hearts that made this happen for Michael, and for the planet he loved so much.
